Looks awesome! If I could draw like, I just might be a productive member of the DA community.
As for your challenge, is it "to wish on a star"? I came to this conclusion because I noticed there wasn't a shooting star in the picture. You wish on a birthday candle, and dandelion by blowing on it, but you typically don't wish on a stationary star (unless you want your puppet to come to life). I doubt I'm right, but that is what over-analyzing brought me to.
Ah, thanks. It actually looks nicer than a lot of the ones I've seen. ...from my own school. I'd say you have some chance of winning at least statewide. XD I swear, some of the entries from last year were so incredibly unoriginal that I just sort of gagged when i saw them.
Alright, I can connect all of the elements to some sort of wish-granting-myth EXCEPT the wind. It's a bit distracting, and I'm not sure how the wind is.. wish-like. Aside from that, it's very nice on the eyes, Kanon, even if it did take me a moment or so to figure out the theme.

Design wise it's pretty strong. I like it. Critique wise, I feel like the lines should be cleaner, particularly the hands. Most of Google's logos are clean. That and the biggest issue, I have no idea what your message is. When you are given a prompt, it is imperative that the viewer easily identifies the central theme of the visual.
